Over six years ago, the Tyee Yacht Club on Lake Union was the site of one of our first weddings as professional wedding photographers. Last month, we returned to the same waterfront to photograph Angela and Jeremy on what turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day to get married.
We met the couple at Watertown, a cool nearby hotel, where Angela got ready while Jeremy patiently waited outside with his groomsmen and the couple's super-cute dog, Hazel.
A short ride in a charter bus brought everyone to Fairview Park, where we took the family portraits and some of the bride and groom.
Then the whole wedding party walked down the road to South Passage Point Park, which is right next to the yacht club, in the shade of historic University Bridge. It was an especially significant stop since it's where Jeremy proposed to Angela!
A huge willow tree on the edge of the water at SPP Park provided an awesome backdrop for more portraits of the happy couple and their wedding party.
Angela and Jeremy are both teachers, so it's only natural that they were surrounded by kids on their big day. Young family friends and cousins made a small army of flower girls and ring bearer. These girls treated Angela like a rock star!
Hazel also was a member of the wedding party, and clearly enjoyed the sunny ceremony, as did we! When the ceremony ended, guests socialized at the park for a while, and then Angela and Jeremy led a migration on foot down the road to Tyee.
After an excellent family-style dinner, toasts and cake cutting ...
...we witnessed some of the most exuberant group dancing we've seen in a while, including a particularly energetic YMCA and Dancing Queen.
Adding an unusual but delectable twist to the night, Angela and Jeremy arranged for Dante's Inferno Dogs to set up a stand outside the club, providing a fun late-night snack for all those partiers.
Our congrats to Angela and Jeremy!
