We recently got to hit two of the prettiest places in all of Western Washington in one day, for the wedding of Kacia and Chris!
We met up with Chris and his posse at the Rose Garden in Point Defiance Park, where Kacia and her girls joined us for the bride and groom's first look amidst the roses.
We took a few portraits in the nearby gardens, which were bursting with color, and then took the big wedding party down to Owen Beach for a few more shots before hitting the road for Lakewold Gardens, the wedding venue. The young cutie is Chris' daughter Anna.
Once Kacia and Chris were safely hidden away upstairs, there was little for them to do but hang out and enjoy the view from the windows — the girls in their big room and the guys in their little bathroom.
In accordance with Lakewold's customs, the ceremony was held at the wide section of the Brickwalk, one of the most beautiful settings we've seen. We're very fortunate to have such a great venue so nearby — and to get to shoot there so often. (Did you see our recent giant peacock photos?)
The way was paved by a very meticulous flowergirl, who dropped tulips at nearly perfect intervals that made for some nice photo opportunities later. We ran around to get viewpoints of the ceremony from the second-story windows and from the far side of the bright blue pool.
Kacia and Chris had a pretty large guest count, and dinner tables stretched far onto the lawn. With nice weather and so much scenery to enjoy, it seemed like we hardly spent any time indoors. But when we did go into the sunroom for the first dance, it was just as photogenic!
Congrats to Kacia and Chris!
