It's common for us to see an uptick in inquiries about our portrait services just before a Fort Lewis deployment. That's how we came to count Shirlanne and Shane among our newest clientele! Shirlanne, a Georgia native, booked us for a portrait session with husband Shane, an Army chaplain's assistant from Colorado, mere days before his deployment to Iraq. Joining us were their two dachshunds, Caliber and Gunner.
We met up at Tacoma's Wright Park on a beautiful sunny day, and started our portrait session at the beautiful botanical conservatory — which contains some 3500 individual panes of glass, according to Wikipedia!
Then we headed down the hill to the recently renovated lake, which is the other highlight of Wright Park.
Knowing that Mt. Rainier would be out in full force on a day like this, I proposed heading down Stadium Way to Fireman's Park for a quick and easy view of the mountain. Glad they went for it as we got some great shots! For a few out-of-towners brought to Tacoma by the Army, I'd think no landmark represents your time here more than Mt. Rainier.
Shirlanne and Shane, had a great time working with you two and the "kids" and hope these photos help get you through the deployment!
